SYS3's "Best Tools for the Job"

During lockdown, SYS3 have seen a huge rise in the need for tools to make remote working not only easier, but more familiar.

Businesses, big and small, want to be able to give their employees the best possible tools to maintain productive outside of the office. Today, SYS3 discusses 3 services that could be a game changer for your business.

Microsoft SharePoint

You've probably heard about SharePoint by now. This is a documentation and collaboration tool by Microsoft that is essentially your own internal Intranet. Used by many firms, including some of our own clients, SharePoint allows users to upload files and documents to access securely online when they're out of the office. It has the capacity to sync with your server documents. You can upload entire folders from your server for employees to access at any time, syncing any changes made back to the original documents so you're always working from the most up to date version. Do you have staff who work on the road or out on site? It's easy to setup, simple to administrate and, if you already use Office 365 Business Premium (now known as Business Standard) you already have the features available to you without an increase in your monthly costs.

Microsoft Teams

Yes, that's right. Another offering from the formidable Microsoft. Teams is a fantastic tool that we are using ourselves. Teams is a desktop application that acts as your 'virtual office'. You open it every morning and there you can share tasks, schedule meetings, live chat with your colleagues, access your contacts and calendars... the list goes on. If you use SharePoint, you can even link the services together so you can access all of your company files in Teams too. It really is a fantastic tool and has been a real game changer for SYS3's in-house IT.

VOIP Phones

If you use VOIP phones you don't need to be told how incredibly helpful the service has been during the COVID-19 crisis. You may already be considering an upgrade to your phone system, especially if you're using the soon to be defunct ISDN service. VOIP has a wealth of benefits: low monthly costs, no line rental charges, simple pricing (if it's from SYS3, that is!). But by far the number one benefit when times get tough.... you can unplug your physical office phone, plug it into your router at home and it will ring just as if you were sat at your desk. It's not just national emergencies that this comes in handy either! If you need to work at home for personal reasons or have the option to base yourself from home, your colleagues and clients needn't worry about being able to reach you.

What to know more?

While things are quiet, now may be the perfect time to look around and find out how you could change your IT for the better. Even if you just want a quote for an idea of price, contact SYS3 today to see what we can do for your business.
